The referee ignored Infami di Canaus's protests and gave Dave Malatesta a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Infami di Canaus's Dave Malatesta got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Francesco De Vincentis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Fedele Pellicciotta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Infami di Canaus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cacciola the free kick. Ennio Imperatrice hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Achille Scacchi came free in the 23rd minute and tried to tip the ball over Alvise Testi, but to the joy of Infami di Canaus's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. 24 minutes into the match, Infami di Canaus's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Zangari came free, but Alvise Testi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute Claudio Diana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele Mascia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesare De Fina's late challenge caught a Infami di Canaus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesare De Fina helped the player get up and apologised. Cesare De Fina kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Infami di Canaus's goal looked a bit too open when Achille Scacchi came free, but Alvise Testi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Infami di Canaus getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Fedele Pellicciotta hit a great ball. If Didi Vendetta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuele Mascia made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Dave Malatesta sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 48 minutes, Dave Malatesta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Infami di Canaus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dave Malatesta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Achille Scacchi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Dave Malatesta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele Mascia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Francesco De Vincentis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvise Testi was a little too slow when Dennis Mannucci got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Malatesta in the 65th minute of play forced Cacciola's goalkeeper Emanuele Mascia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Cacciola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuele Mascia should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Didi Vendetta during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 89 played minutes Infami di Canaus got a freekick which was hit by Didi Vendetta. After 90 minutes of play Cacciola's Cesare De Fina was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Infami di Canaus's Elia Cicchinelli was substituted for Didi Vendetta. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Dave Malatesta sped through Cacciola's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emanuele Mascia. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cacciola players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Infami di Canaus.
