After a defensive mix-up in AFK Petržalka's zone, Marek Harvan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marek Hronský came out of the goal and Marek Harvan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12thth minute of the game Jozef Ružinský who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC rossoneri SENICA's Milan Cernan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Tomáš Knecht notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of AFK Petržalka's Marek Hronský. Marek Hronský was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Milan Cernan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Kazár, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Milan Cernan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jozef Ružinský's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Matúš Beňo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Róbert Baggio struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Marek Hronský didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC rossoneri SENICA. The audience was convinced that Jozef Ružinský's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Milan Cernan was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in FC rossoneri SENICA's zone, Jozef Ružinský stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jozef Ružinský in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Milan Cernan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 36 minutes, Stano Pomajbo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC rossoneri SENICA and the AFK Petržalka players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC rossoneri SENICA getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Stano Pomajbo hit a great ball. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC rossoneri SENICA's goalkeeper Milan Cernan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jozef Ružinský blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Milan Cernan having to make a save. FC rossoneri SENICA's Milan Cernan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jozef Ružinský in the 39th minute of play. Dávid Ďuriš sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
With a little luck, FC rossoneri SENICA's Milan Cernan got control of the ball when Dávid Ďuriš tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54th minute, Jozef Ružinský reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Milan Cernan. The goal made the score 1-1. Milan Cernan came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by AFK Petržalka's Jozef Ružinský. But to his dismay, Jozef Ružinský quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. AFK Petržalka's Jozef Ružinský got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 65 minutes into the game, when Milan Škriniar put in a rough tackle. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AFK Petržalka! The supporters of AFK Petržalka booed when FC rossoneri SENICA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Lucifer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Milan Cernan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gabriel Kazár showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 70 minute of play. If Dávid Ďuriš had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Milan Cernan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dávid Ďuriš in the 79th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Gabriel Kazár had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Milan Cernan. FC rossoneri SENICA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabriel Kazár was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Marek Harvan managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC rossoneri SENICA's supporters rose to their feet, but Marek Harvan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marek Hronský breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gabriel Kazár fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFK Petržalka's protests and gave Gabriel Kazár a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Gabriel Kazár got a free kick in the 91st minute. Marek Hronský didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomáš Knecht went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. In the 98th minute, AFK Petržalka's Jozef Ružinský dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AFK Petržalka eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
