After 15 minutes of play, Henley on Thames United's Edgar Iovanovici made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vincent Blakeley was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vincent Blakeley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Sherwood in the 20th minute of play. With a little luck, Henley on Thames United's Sofoklis Prinianakis got control of the ball when Bruce Marler tried to sneak it across the goal line. Des Wicks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Bruce Marler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vincent Blakeley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristian Ottaway, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd match minute, Egg Chasers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calvin Clark to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Egg Chasers FC's Matthew Brookman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sofoklis Prinianakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vincent Blakeley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Iovanovici's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Des Wicks could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Sofoklis Prinianakis made a huge save. Egg Chasers FC's Vincent Blakeley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristian Ottaway in the 39th minute of play. Sofoklis Prinianakis made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Des Wicks sent off a good shot on target. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kristian Ottaway stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Henley on Thames United's Vincent Blakeley threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carl Houghton, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonny Wilkinson during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Henley on Thames United booed when Egg Chasers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vincent Blakeley showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sofoklis Prinianakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Marler, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 65th minute Henley on Thames United were awarded a corner. Grant Sherwood went to the cornerflag to take it. Grant Sherwood made a great header on Henley on Thames United's corner, it was just that Egg Chasers FC's Vincent Blakeley managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 68th minute of the match, Carl Houghton got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vincent Blakeley was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vincent Blakeley was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kristian Ottaway showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 91 minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Egg Chasers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reuben Markinson to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute Kristian Ottaway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Blakeley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Henley on Thames United's Joe Wright got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the final whistle sounded Henley on Thames United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Egg Chasers FC.
