The corner ended in Gregers Leinøe almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hilsea's John England did a great save. In the 10thth minute of the game Rory Downham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but White Eagles FC's Garry Cobb was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. White Eagles FC's Garry Cobb proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save White Eagles FC from getting a goal against them. John England showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Coburn in the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hilsea's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gregers Leinøe was slow to take the kick. During this time White Eagles FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on White Eagles FC's corner Gregers Leinøe fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and John England quite easily take care of the ball. If Andy Coburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes into the game, Rory Downham recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Garry Cobb. Rory Downham showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ashley Driver got free with Garry Cobb in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute, Tristram Fuller left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The White Eagles FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 46th match minute, Hilsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rory Downham to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Garry Cobb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ashley Driver, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Orson Gamble hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 minutes Hilsea's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gregers Leinøe who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yngve Andersson in the 59th minute of play forced Hilsea's goalkeeper John England to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hilsea fans cheered their team off the field, for while White Eagles FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
