Spectators: 169 (Terracing: 127, Seating: 39, VIP seats: 3) FC Hamburg's Apollo Heite started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Möhnsen FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Mathias Bernwurz hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luis Bartels during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Hamburg booed when Möhnsen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Bartels didn't get a good kick on the ball. Finn Bartels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the game, Apollo Heite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Șerban Fundătoreanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Șerban Fundătoreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apollo Heite in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Apollo Heite's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Șerban Fundătoreanu was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. A well placed Guido Burgstaller short distance shot in the 22nd minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Apollo Heite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Apollo Heite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Șerban Fundătoreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Werner Eigenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. A collision led to FC Hamburg getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Bolko Hoppe hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guido Burgstaller made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Darius Minge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alban Bolesta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alban Bolesta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darius Minge in the 54th minute of play. Luis Bartels made a great header on Möhnsen FC's corner, it was just that FC Hamburg's Alban Bolesta managed to reach the ball for a save. Alban Bolesta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Béla Strothmann in the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Timo Schinnenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alban Bolesta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goal looked a bit too open when Darius Minge came free, but Alban Bolesta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alban Bolesta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darius Minge in the 71st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Apollo Heite's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Șerban Fundătoreanu was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. In the 75th minute Timo Schinnenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alban Bolesta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Möhnsen FC's Torben Holbach got a free kick in the 76th minute. Finn Bartels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Fundătoreanu having to interfere. Finn Bartels's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Șerban Fundătoreanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Hamburg defense, Darius Minge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alban Bolesta. The FC Hamburg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alban Bolesta should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Möhnsen FC's zone, Finn Bartels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Șerban Fundătoreanu came out of the goal and Finn Bartels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Möhnsen FC's Torben Holbach got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Apollo Heite struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Șerban Fundătoreanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Hamburg. Möhnsen FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
