The supporters of Hamburg Fighters booed when PoznanGalaxy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Makowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. PoznanGalaxy's Henning Heringer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gianluca Balla in the 30th minute of play. In the 77th minute of the match Hamburg Fighters got a corner. PoznanGalaxy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hamburg Fighters's Brandon Rick was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Henning Heringer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the PoznanGalaxy defense, Brandon Rick kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henning Heringer. The PoznanGalaxy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henning Heringer should have stopped the shot. Henning Heringer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gianluca Balla in the 80th minute of play. Henning Heringer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Balla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 82 minutes, Szilárd Újváry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Henning Heringer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Szilárd Újváry, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. PoznanGalaxy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
