Spectators: 157 (Terracing: 118, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Murray Hägert started the match with the kick off. The supporters of FC Bruges booed when Royal Antwerp F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Huijghens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reinard Van Ghele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Van Kamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luc Van Hinnendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murray Hägert in the 11th minute of the match. FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murray Hägert in the 13th minute of play. When Murray Hägert, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 13 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Luc Van Hinnendael was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Shen Sang Hao could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Reinard Van Ghele made a huge save. In the 18th minute Atak Zor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luc Van Hinnendael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinard Van Ghele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shen Sang Hao, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Reinard Van Ghele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shen Shi Mo in the 21st minute of play. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Reinard Van Ghele proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Royal Antwerp F.C. from getting a goal against them. Ken Brogren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Reinard Van Ghele made a huge save. In the 27th minute Atak Zor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luc Van Hinnendael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luc Van Hinnendael came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Atak Zor. But to his dismay, Atak Zor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Reinard Van Ghele was a little too slow when Shen Sang Hao got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 38th minute Atak Zor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luc Van Hinnendael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Royal Antwerp F.C. defense, Carl Van Kamp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reinard Van Ghele. The Royal Antwerp F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reinard Van Ghele should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Shen Sang Hao to strike the kick off in the second half. Roel de Pelsmaker charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roel de Pelsmaker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Roel de Pelsmaker got a free kick in the 51st minute. Leon Imberechts's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luc Van Hinnendael firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Jacq De Weijngaerden got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st match minute, Royal Antwerp F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joseph van Haghten to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carl Van Kamp in the 72nd minute of play forced Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalkeeper Reinard Van Ghele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luc Van Hinnendael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murray Hägert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luc Van Hinnendael made an important save on a dangerous shot by Atak Zor in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atak Zor in the 81st minute of play forced FC Bruges's goalkeeper Luc Van Hinnendael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Vassilis Katsanikas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Imberechts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luc Van Hinnendael having to interfere. With a little luck, FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael got control of the ball when Murray Hägert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Atak Zor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Luc Van Hinnendael made a huge save. Roel de Pelsmaker hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. FC Bruges's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
