Rui Patrício showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Rui Patrício made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Blanchart in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in S.C. Canidelense's zone, Zacarias Vilar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kent Tate came out of the goal and Zacarias Vilar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute of the match Benficajuvestars got a corner. S.C. Canidelense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jerry Nykvist ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of S.C. Canidelense booed when Benficajuvestars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Américo Moniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rui Patrício showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Severo in the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of S.C. Canidelense booed when Benficajuvestars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Van den Berch didn't get a good kick on the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Salvador Vilas Boas notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of S.C. Canidelense's Kent Tate. Kent Tate was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Jerry Nykvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kent Tate was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Kent Tate stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerry Nykvist's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Canidelense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kent Tate should have stopped the shot. If Jerry Nykvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute Salvador Vilas Boas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kent Tate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.C. Canidelense were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Benficajuvestars's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zhivko Shpatov took the corner. After taking down the ball on S.C. Canidelense's corner José Blanchart fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rui Patrício quite easily take care of the ball. José Blanchart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Benficajuvestars fans cheered their team off the field, for while S.C. Canidelense had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
