After a rather tough play, Matos Velhos's Jiang Qing Lin got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Mike van Kampen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dabi Saens in the 4th minute of play. Mike van Kampen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerónimo Furtado in the 6th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's Kalpanatha Varma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edwin van der Sar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an all-out effort, União Sport Clube Paredes's Mike van Kampen threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dabi Saens, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerónimo Furtado in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mike van Kampen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Delgado in the 18th minute of play forced União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerónimo Furtado. Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Matos Velhos from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Delgado in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 25th minute, Roman Quilo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mike van Kampen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Alexandre Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Mike van Kampen made a huge save. The corner ended in Dabi Saens almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen did a great save. Roman Quilo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mike van Kampen came out and tried to block the shot, but Roman Quilo slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 36th minute. Mike van Kampen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Quilo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Joaquim Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jerónimo Furtado to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Roman Quilo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike van Kampen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Santana in the 55th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jiang Qing Lin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edwin van der Sar having to make a save. In the 59th minute, Dabi Saens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 64 minutes into the game, União Sport Clube Paredes's Jerónimo Furtado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mike van Kampen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. In the 68th minute, Jerónimo Furtado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Matos Velhos made a substitution. Generoso Silvino replaced Lisandro Fagundes. União Sport Clube Paredes made a substitution. Horia Taşcu replaced Mehran Utandıbalayev. Matos Velhos made a substitution. Sabino Vilhena replaced Kalpanatha Varma. 73 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Quilo came free, but Mike van Kampen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Candal in the 74th minute of play. After 76 minutes of play, União Sport Clube Paredes's Roman Quilo made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mike van Kampen was left in no man's land by his defense there! 81 minutes into the game, Alexandre Santana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Mike van Kampen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mike van Kampen came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by União Sport Clube Paredes's Roman Quilo. But to his dismay, Roman Quilo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Matos Velhos's Tord Böcklund was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Edwin van der Sar in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 89th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Piara Bue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquim Delgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin van der Sar having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the União Sport Clube Paredes players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
