Silvio Bazil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Policarpio in the 2nd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Rogelio Policarpio sped through Martin Palermo F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Silvio Bazil. Dário Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrico Giammarino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Arósio in the 9th minute of play forced SHIZUOKA FC's goalkeeper Dário Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sekou Mára recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogelio Policarpio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Silvio Bazil made a huge save. Dário Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Izquierdo, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Dário Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovanni Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvio Bazil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Policarpio in the 26th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, SHIZUOKA FC's Rogelio Policarpio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvio Bazil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guaberto Lugo got free with Silvio Bazil in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Martin Palermo F.C. getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Enrico Giammarino hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Arósio in the 33rd minute of play forced SHIZUOKA FC's goalkeeper Dário Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Martin Palermo F.C.'s Silvio Bazil got control of the ball when Antonello Roccuzzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute SHIZUOKA FC were awarded a corner. Sekou Mára went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on SHIZUOKA FC's corner Sekou Mára fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Silvio Bazil quite easily take care of the ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Rogelio Policarpio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Martin Palermo F.C.'s Silvio Bazil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogelio Policarpio in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvio Bazil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Silvio Bazil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Policarpio in the 42nd minute of the match. Silvio Bazil made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Antonello Roccuzzo sent off a good shot on target. Silvio Bazil was a little too slow when Antonello Roccuzzo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antonello Roccuzzo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Roccuzzo in the 60th minute of play forced Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalkeeper Silvio Bazil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Antonello Roccuzzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Guaberto Lugo came free, but Silvio Bazil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute of the match SHIZUOKA FC got a corner. Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sekou Mára ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Sekou Mára got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Silvio Bazil quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 65th minute, Robin Wallgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antonello Roccuzzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Martin Palermo F.C.'s zone, Rogelio Policarpio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvio Bazil came out of the goal and Rogelio Policarpio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Serafin Manni was substituted for Karl Holmberg. In the 76th minute, Tiburcio Pepillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Wallgren in the 79th minute of play forced SHIZUOKA FC's goalkeeper Dário Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sekou Mára couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute Rogelio Policarpio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Bazil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Izquierdo came free with the goalkeeper in the 93rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dário Pinho could save by the left post. Victorio Orlan hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The supporters of Martin Palermo F.C. booed when SHIZUOKA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fede Valverde didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Martin Palermo F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SHIZUOKA FC.
