After some careless play in the ALEXANDRIA defense, Don Merlot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godfredo Obano. The ALEXANDRIA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godfredo Obano should have stopped the shot. 21 minutes into the match, ALEXANDRIA's goalkeeper Godfredo Obano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julio Urko. Pastor Celipe charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pastor Celipe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes Don Malbec got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Celipe. Godfredo Obano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Don Merlot's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 32nd minute, Ciriaco Haritzeder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Celipe in the 34th minute of play forced ALEXANDRIA's goalkeeper Godfredo Obano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ALEXANDRIA's Godfredo Obano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save ALEXANDRIA from getting a goal against them. After 39 played minutes ALEXANDRIA got a freekick which was hit by Teodosio Beltxe. Don Merlot struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Godfredo Obano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Don Malbec. Godfredo Obano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Merlot, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Don Merlot kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Godfredo Obano. That made the score 3-0 in the 46 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Don Merlot to make the kick off. Godfredo Obano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Don Merlot went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Don Merlot in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godfredo Obano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute Don Merlot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfredo Obano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Don Merlot notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of ALEXANDRIA's Godfredo Obano. Godfredo Obano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of ALEXANDRIA booed when Don Malbec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Distiratsu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gerard Roulin fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Don Malbec's protests and gave Gerard Roulin a yellow card for diving instead. Godfredo Obano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Urko in the 87th minute of the match. Julio Urko might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godfredo Obano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julio Urko ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Don Malbec fully deserved thier win.
