When Jairo Ler came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Cardiff City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo Ler couldn't finish the play. Leon Bonadona was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 63 minutes into the match. Everardo Joey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernabe George read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Julian Efraim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Bernabe George made a huge save. In the 99th match minute, Sarmiento de Resistencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Cayo to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Cardiff City FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sarmiento de Resistencia throughout the match.
