The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Qian Cheng Xing's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pontus Nordström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Habil Castolo in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pontus Nordström saved Santa Margarita from getting behind. Santa Margarita's Pontus Nordström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Habil Castolo in the 16th minute of play. Sabin Pânzaru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dave Basso went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Pontus Nordström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Habil Castolo in the 29th minute of the match. Qian Cheng Xing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Pontus Nordström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucio Gabino in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pontus Nordström saved Santa Margarita from getting behind. Pontus Nordström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Habil Castolo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Habil Castolo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pontus Nordström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qian Cheng Xing in the 40th minute of play. Dave Basso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sabin Pânzaru having to make a save. Sabin Pânzaru made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Dave Basso sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Habil Castolo made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Basso in the 52nd minute of play forced the xeneise dream team's goalkeeper Sabin Pânzaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pontus Nordström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qian Cheng Xing in the 56th minute of the match. Habil Castolo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Pontus Nordström made a huge save. Pontus Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Qian Cheng Xing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sabin Pânzaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaus Mohammadi, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 64th minute of the match, Qian Cheng Xing tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pontus Nordström saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Habil Castolo got free with Pontus Nordström in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Habil Castolo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Pontus Nordström made a huge save.
