After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Arnaldo Beturian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dionisia's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Beturian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Orlando Gatti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Dionisia's goalkeeper Aquiles Senio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emiliano Enol. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Beturian in the 12th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Dionisia's Arnaldo Beturian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 15th minute Arnaldo Beturian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Abuba Akotonon FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Florencio Chano was slow to take the kick. During this time Dionisia's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the Abuba Akotonon FC defense, Arnaldo Beturian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Orlando Gatti. The Abuba Akotonon FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Orlando Gatti should have stopped the shot. Aquiles Senio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 24th minute of play. Arnaldo Beturian struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Hugo Orlando Gatti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dionisia. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florencio Chano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute Dionisia were awarded a corner. Florencio Chano went to the cornerflag to take it. Florencio Chano made a great header on Dionisia's corner, it was just that Abuba Akotonon FC's Hugo Orlando Gatti managed to reach the ball for a save. Emiliano Enol might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquiles Senio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emiliano Enol ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Beturian in the 43rd minute of play forced Abuba Akotonon FC's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Dionisia's Arnaldo Beturian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Dionisia made a substitution. Sebastian Cisco replaced Denis Ereinotz. After the first half Dionisia were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arnaldo Beturian made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Dionisia's Arnaldo Beturian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hugo Orlando Gatti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cecilio Tristan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Aquiles Senio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaldo Beturian, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 71st minute of the match Abuba Akotonon FC got a corner. Dionisia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Genaro Elivareo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 73 played minutes Dionisia got a freekick which was hit by Aquilino Piearres. Aquiles Senio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Enol in the 74th minute of the match. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nemesio Eudoxio in the 76th minute of play. Nemesio Eudoxio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Hugo Orlando Gatti made a huge save. Aquiles Senio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Dionisia's Nemesio Eudoxio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hugo Orlando Gatti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Nemesio Eudoxio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dionisia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
