Virgilio Sotil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Alberto Kempes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laurita FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Chi-Chi Legay in the 20th minute. Mo Caso kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Laurita FC's Mario Alberto Kempes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Virgilio Sotil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Mitre's goalkeeper Virgilio Sotil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Laurita FC's Mario Alberto Kempes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virgilio Sotil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mario Alberto Kempes ran back to his position shaking his head. 40 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre's goalkeeper Virgilio Sotil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mario Alberto Kempes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Alberto Kempes in the 41st minute of play forced Villa Mitre's goalkeeper Virgilio Sotil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Villa Mitre's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chi-Chi Legay was slow to take the kick. During this time Laurita FC's players had a chance to rest. There was no doubt that Laurita FC were the better team. Laurita FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
