The corner led to Lanús's Rabelani Thebile getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Manuel Neuer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Claude, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 34 played minutes Lanús got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Puch. Manuel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Claude in the 36th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Puch during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Aurelio Quintan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Aurelio Quintan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eloy Gaskon went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 74thth minute of the game Eloy Gaskon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Social y Dep. Patagonia's Aurelio Quintan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Social y Dep. Patagonia made a substitution. Lino Telo replaced Justo Quintana. Manuel Neuer made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Edgardo Claude sent off a good shot on target. Aurelio Quintan was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lanús fans cheered their team off the field, for while Social y Dep. Patagonia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
