In the 40th minute, De Pelgrims's Mathias de Ruijter dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Winthont FC's Pascal Zalm got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mathijs Grommers was the one to do the kick off. The throw-in from Twan Mol in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Winthont FC's Abilio Pages. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pascal Zalm in the 53rd minute of the match. Winthont FC's Abilio Pages managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Twan Mol in the 57 minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Pascal Zalm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Winthont FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pascal Zalm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mike Zoetmulder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sander Schaars hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. A collision led to Winthont FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Henrique Ramalho hit a great ball. Winthont FC's Dennis Beerthuis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike van Zeijl in the 70th minute of play. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Nesor in the 72nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias de Ruijter in the 75th minute of play forced Winthont FC's goalkeeper Dennis Beerthuis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Mathias de Ruijter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dennis Beerthuis was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. De Pelgrims had played much better football throughout.
