The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dorian Arce was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Musa Muhteşem showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. In the 6th minute, Musa Muhteşem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Alexandre Souto put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of 胡振鸿. EC São José's Dorian Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lyuboslav Penev in the 11th minute of play. The long shot by Elói Mesquita in the 13th minute really tested Dorian Arce's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Dorival Sena hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Dorian Arce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Musa Muhteşem in the 17th minute. When Lyuboslav Penev came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the A A Arizona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lyuboslav Penev couldn't finish the play. Musa Muhteşem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Dorian Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgílio Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Lyuboslav Penev succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 21st playminute. A A Arizona were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after EC São José's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vitinho do Valle took the corner. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Musa Muhteşem put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dorian Arce. Dorian Arce acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 33rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vitinho do Valle. 35 minutes into the game, Alexandre Souto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. 胡振鸿 was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dorian Arce made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Musa Muhteşem sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Musa Muhteşem in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dorian Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. EC São José's Dorian Arce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save EC São José from getting a goal against them. After 43rd play minutes Musa Muhteşem shot 5-2, a short shot which went by Dorian Arce and just under the crossbar into goal. A A Arizona's 胡振鸿 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco Carneiro in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Musa Muhteşem to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match A A Arizona got a corner. EC São José's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vitinho do Valle ran over to the corner to take the kick. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by EC São José's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vitinho do Valle was slow to take the kick. During this time A A Arizona's players had a chance to rest. A A Arizona's Laércio Aguiar was substituted for Vitinho do Valle. In the 59th minute there was a penalty for A A Arizona. Laércio Aguiar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dorian Arce. 6-2. Musa Muhteşem struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Dorian Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A A Arizona. A A Arizona's Natã Pereira was substituted for Humberto Bastos. EC São José's Dorian Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Musa Muhteşem in the 65th minute of play. Alexandre Souto scored 6-3 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 胡振鸿, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. EC São José's Luiz Fernando Goiano was substituted for Virgílio Teles. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Musa Muhteşem in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorian Arce saved EC São José from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, Musa Muhteşem notched a goal, 7-3, to the right of EC São José's Dorian Arce. Dorian Arce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Musa Muhteşem put it in 8-3 from a short distance just to the right of Dorian Arce. EC São José's Nelson Rezende was substituted for Glauco Carneiro. Franco Cristaldo's late challenge caught a A A Arizona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franco Cristaldo helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes EC São José got a freekick which was hit by Franco Cristaldo. In the 94th minute Lyuboslav Penev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorian Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A A Arizona's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laércio Aguiar in the 95th minute. Laércio Aguiar made a great header on A A Arizona's corner, it was just that EC São José's Dorian Arce managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of A A Arizona booed when EC São José was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball.
