In the 3rd minute Rod Marsland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Vianna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rod Marsland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Virgílio Sanches charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virgílio Sanches the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The crowd rose to their feet as Rod Marsland kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gerson Vianna. That made the score 2-0 in the 17 minute of play. David Malsepica might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gerson Vianna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Malsepica ran back to his position shaking his head. Caio Vergílio charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caio Vergílio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes Rolo Compressor FC got a freekick which was hit by Caio Vergílio. After a rather tough play, Aguinhas's Magnus Richardsen got a free kick in the 30th minute. Cristiano Schmidt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmyr Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. During the 32nd minute of the match Caio Vergílio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Caio Vergílio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 33rd minute, Caio Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Aguinhas's Rod Marsland in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rolo Compressor FC's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rod Marsland in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerson Vianna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolo Compressor FC's Gerson Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Fernandez in the 40th minute of play. Pedro Augusto Luz charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Augusto Luz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rod Marsland to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Aguinhas's Rod Marsland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerson Vianna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Walmyr Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After 57 minutes of play, Aguinhas's Rod Marsland made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerson Vianna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aguinhas's Paulo Renato Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rolo Compressor FC! In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Aguinhas. Rod Marsland stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gerson Vianna. 5-0. Rod Marsland struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Gerson Vianna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aguinhas. After a rather tough play, Aguinhas's Rod Marsland got a free kick in the 69th minute. Gerson Vianna came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Aguinhas's Rod Marsland. But to his dismay, Rod Marsland quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. 79 minutes into the match, Rod Marsland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerson Vianna. Rolo Compressor FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rod Marsland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. After 82 played minutes Aguinhas got a freekick which was hit by Rod Marsland. In the 86th minute, Rod Marsland made a precise shot to the right of Gerson Vianna. Rolo Compressor FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. In the 89th minute Rod Marsland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Vianna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 90 minutes, David Malsepica managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aguinhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Malsepica was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Rod Marsland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aguinhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Rod Marsland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerson Vianna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Aguinhas fully deserved thier win.
