The Estrela Solitária fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Estrela Solitária's Chicão Amorim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Adam Doykin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dudu Meira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 46 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

In the 89th minute, Gerd Müller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Estrela Solitária booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Ely didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute of the match Chicão Amorim sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adam Doykin skillfully saved the ball. In the 93rd minute, Celsinho Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gerd Müller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dudu Meira came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Estrela Solitária fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudu Meira couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Estrela Solitária fully deserved thier win.
