The supporters of Dragões de Campo Grande booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ye Hong Shi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brock Friend in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardinho Moreira saved Dragões de Campo Grande from getting behind. Ricardinho Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brock Friend in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Brock Friend left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cruzeiro Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ricardinho Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brock Friend, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oswaldo Maranhense in the 22nd minute. The corner ended in Oswaldo Maranhense almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Dragões de Campo Grande's Ricardinho Moreira did a great save. 24 minutes into the game, Brock Friend cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ricardinho Moreira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 26th match minute, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brock Friend to maneuver through the defense. Ricardinho Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brock Friend in the 30th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Brock Friend's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardinho Moreira was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 39th minute of the match, Gandalf Bilbo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arthur Bufi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's 余永川 was substituted for Brock Friend. Ricardinho Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 余永川, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Ramón Aguiar was substituted for Wágner Torres. Zé Paulo Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by 余永川 in the 66th minute of play forced Dragões de Campo Grande's goalkeeper Ricardinho Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's 余永川 came free and shot a quick shot against goal 67 minutes in the game, fortunately Ricardinho Moreira had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dragões de Campo Grande's goalkeeper Ricardinho Moreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Cristi Saron was substituted for Juan Pablo Sorin. Arthur Bufi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Arthur Bufi came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Dragões de Campo Grande's Zé Paulo Trancoso. But to his dismay, Zé Paulo Trancoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 87thth minute of the game 余永川 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dragões de Campo Grande's Ricardinho Moreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Dragões de Campo Grande's Ricardinho Moreira got control of the ball when 余永川 tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Luiz Guilherme Cearense got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After 96 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Cristi Saron. The Dragões de Campo Grande fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
