Paulão Medeiros might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cássio da Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulão Medeiros ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Betinho Custódio during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paulão Medeiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Cássio da Silva made a huge save. Paulão Medeiros's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cássio da Silva firmly grabbed it by the left post. A hard shot 24 in the game by Paulão Medeiros from a close distance when the talented Cássio da Silva managed to make a qualified save. Cachaça FC's players were relieved. In the 29th minute of the match, Paulão Medeiros got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cássio da Silva was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cachaça FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montesclarense E.C. the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Cachaça FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvaldo Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. Paulão Medeiros who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Cássio da Silva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cássio da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Patrylo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 43 minutes, Gino do Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cachaça FC and the Montesclarense E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 51 minutes of play, Montesclarense E.C.'s Wally Lawson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio da Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cássio da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Schmidt in the 80th minute of the match. If André Luís Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montesclarense E.C.'s Ernani Tavares quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Carlos Alberto Vargas, made in the 85th minute of the game. After 89 played minutes Cachaça FC got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Custódio. When Montesclarense E.C.'s André Luís Schmidt in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cachaça FC's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, André Luís Schmidt put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cássio da Silva. A wasted opportunity for Montesclarense E.C.. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Montesclarense E.C. fully deserved thier win.
