Caetano da Silveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Serginho Chulapa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir Miheev having to interfere. Serginho Chulapa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Vladimir Miheev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caetano da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbyszko Cupial, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Rodrigo Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caetano da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zbyszko Cupial in the 53rd minute of the match. Caetano da Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Pedro Silva's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. After 64th play minutes Zbyszko Cupial shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Caetano da Silveira and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Staffan Nyberg in the 67th minute of play forced Chelsicha's goalkeeper Caetano da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Canastro FC's Vladimir Miheev got control of the ball when Serginho Chulapa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Chelsicha's Mel Speerschneider sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladimir Miheev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 74 minutes into the game, one of Canastro FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, Chelsicha's Serginho Chulapa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Vladimir Miheev. Serginho Chulapa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Denílson Cavalcante made in the 81st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Valter Abreu immediately put the ball in play. Serginho Chulapa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Vladimir Miheev made a huge save. Staffan Nyberg scored 3-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Caetano da Silveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Chelsicha getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Bebeto Maia hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Canastro FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chelsicha had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
