The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zbigniew Zatorski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horacio Ponc having to interfere. Horacio Ponc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Piatek in the 7th minute. A collision led to Oiteiras getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Raúl do Valle hit a great ball. Horacio Ponc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Quirino in the 15th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Mauro Quirino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Horacio Ponc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute of the match Oiteiras got a corner. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Perivaldo Furtado ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Perivaldo Furtado almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Yin Feng Peng did a great save. Horacio Ponc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Piatek in the 31st minute. Renatinho Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, Oiteiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Capixaba to maneuver through the defense. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Mauro Quirino got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Oiteiras's zone, Mauro Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horacio Ponc came out of the goal and Mauro Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Renatinho Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Oiteiras were furious when Umberto Capixaba was red carded, 46 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- booed when Oiteiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Horacio Ponc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zbigniew Zatorski, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 54 minutes Oiteiras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mauro Quirino who took care of the corner kick. Jan Piatek struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Horacio Ponc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-. Oiteiras made a substitution. Rafael Veiga replaced Kiko Velasco. Horacio Ponc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbigniew Zatorski in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Jan Piatek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horacio Ponc was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Horacio Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbigniew Zatorski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Zbigniew Zatorski sped through Oiteiras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Horacio Ponc. In the 79th match minute, Oiteiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adilson Reis to maneuver through the defense. After 80 minutes of play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Ash Duxbury made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horacio Ponc was left in no man's land by his defense there! 85 minutes into the match, Oiteiras's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Piatek came free, but Horacio Ponc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oiteiras's Horacio Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ash Duxbury in the 88th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Oiteiras got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Loyola. Horacio Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Piatek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Zbigniew Zatorski notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Oiteiras's Horacio Ponc. Horacio Ponc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- fully deserved thier win.
