FC Mims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Grimaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Emilio Grimaldi sped through Apocalypto's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eugenio Schirru. The Apocalypto players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Mims were winning 0-2.

53 minutes into the match, Apocalypto's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Grimaldi came free, but Eugenio Schirru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Mims's Emilio Grimaldi got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emiliano Capobianco's late challenge caught a FC Mims's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emiliano Capobianco helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Apocalypto got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Capobianco. Emilio Grimaldi took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugenio Schirru. Eugenio Schirru dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Munno in the 70th minute of play forced FC Mims's goalkeeper Amerigo Taranto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Mims booed when Apocalypto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Firmani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emilio Grimaldi struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Eugenio Schirru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Mims. Emilio Grimaldi was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Grimaldi in the 88th minute of play forced Apocalypto's goalkeeper Eugenio Schirru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Antonello Bartolomucci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Cavaliere in the 91st minute of play forced FC Mims's goalkeeper Amerigo Taranto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Mims's Amos Toschi got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Florian Firmani, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The FC Mims players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
