With a little luck, Cacciola's Ivan Vlaykovski got control of the ball when Edwin Godholm tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Renato Bittencourt in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lev Yashin saved Longobarda from getting behind. In the 26th minute Paulo Renato Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match Longobarda got a corner. Cacciola's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manuel Zărnescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Edwin Godholm advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-0 in the 29th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Renato Bittencourt to strike the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Longobarda got a freekick which was hit by Frank Cherubini. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
