Başaran Tuncay might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mustafa Hakan Yayalp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Başaran Tuncay ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Kilyos FC booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehmet Arif Cumali didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute Brynn Locking shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yalçın Erensoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
