In the 13th minute, Teofilo Unai made a precise shot to the right of Cássio Melo. 100 Chance's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 15 minutes, Cássio Melo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cássio Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egídio de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, 100 Chance's goalkeeper Cássio Melo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teofilo Unai. Cássio Melo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Wei Yao Sha sent off a good shot on target. 25 minutes into the match, 100 Chance's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio de Almeida came free, but Cássio Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teofilo Unai came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cássio Melo could save by the left post. 32 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Martins came free, but Leonel Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonel Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osmar Pereira in the 34th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of 100 Chance:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wellington Phoenix:s goal. The audience was convinced that Wei Yao Sha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cássio Melo was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. If Wiliam Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wesley Cabral was the one to do the kick off. 100 Chance's Cássio Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio de Almeida in the 54th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Erivaldo Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Naldo Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Wellington Phoenix's Ronaldo Barral was substituted for Ciro Zanette. 70 minutes into the game, Wellington Phoenix's Teofilo Unai nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cássio Melo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erivaldo Pernambucano in the 75th minute of play forced 100 Chance's goalkeeper Cássio Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
