The throw-in from Lázaro Dominix in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by El Renacer del Quijano FC's Eugenio Peruanton. Diego Erasto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Paulo Francho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Francho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Erasto in the 30th minute of play. After 31 minutes, Eugenio Peruanton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Renacer del Quijano FC and the Celta de Virgos players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when El Renacer del Quijano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugenio Peruanton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Erasto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Paulo Francho made a huge save. After 39 minutes of play, El Renacer del Quijano FC's Teobaldo Javiar made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeremias Fresco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tadeo Sanchez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lázaro Dominix came free in the 46th minute and tried to tip the ball over Paulo Francho, but to the joy of El Renacer del Quijano FC's supporters the ball went over. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Celta de Virgos's Diego Erasto got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Rogelio Araoz fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celta de Virgos's protests and gave Rogelio Araoz a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes Celta de Virgos got a freekick which was hit by Rogelio Araoz. Celta de Virgos made a substitution. Ernesto Iraitz replaced Diego Erasto. Paulo Francho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Iraitz's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After a rather tough play, Celta de Virgos's Tadeo Sanchez got a free kick in the 62nd minute. El Renacer del Quijano FC's Paulo Francho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Iraitz in the 70th minute of play. Ernesto Iraitz spun around in front of the goal 71 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of El Renacer del Quijano FC's goal. Luis Artaldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremias Fresco made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Teobaldo Javiar sent off a good shot on target. Ernesto Iraitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugenio Peruanton hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. El Renacer del Quijano FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
