Vicente Ipar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teobaldo Javiar in the 16th minute of play. Paulo Francho made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Constantino Pueblo sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Constantino Pueblo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Francho. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zeledon Heli during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zeledon Heli hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Constantino Pueblo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Francho having to interfere. With a little luck, El Renacer del Quijano FC's Paulo Francho got control of the ball when Eustacio Inko tried to sneak it across the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, El Renacer del Quijano FC's goalkeeper Paulo Francho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Constantino Pueblo. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
