Luís Mejía made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteban Ignado in the 4th minute of play. Pascual Cordarryl hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ciclista FC's goalkeeper Crişan Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Cubilla in the 7th minute of play forced Ciclista FC's goalkeeper Crişan Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Crişan Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Laureano Orti sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute, Luís Cubilla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Cubilla in the 14th minute of play forced Ciclista FC's goalkeeper Crişan Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Crişan Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Cubilla in the 14th minute of play. Luís Cubilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Crişan Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Ciclista FC's goalkeeper Crişan Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julio-César Montero Castillo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Castel in the 21st minute of play forced LA LUZ F.C.'s goalkeeper Luís Mejía to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the game, Julio-César Montero Castillo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LA LUZ F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ciclista FC the free kick. After 24 played minutes LA LUZ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Julio-César Montero Castillo. Luís Mejía made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Castel in the 26th minute of play. LA LUZ F.C.'s Laureano Orti got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After taking down the ball on LA LUZ F.C.'s corner Tata González fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Crişan Taffarel quite easily take care of the ball. Crişan Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tata González in the 33rd minute of the match. Crişan Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laureano Orti in the 35th minute. Ciclista FC's Crişan Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Cubilla in the 38th minute of play. Crişan Taffarel came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by LA LUZ F.C.'s Luís Cubilla. But to his dismay, Luís Cubilla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

LA LUZ F.C. made a substitution. Mala Lech replaced Laureano Orti. Crişan Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio-César Montero Castillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Esteban Ignado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ciclista FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LA LUZ F.C. the free kick. In the 53rd minute, Esteban Ignado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute Luís Cubilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Crişan Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciclista FC's Crişan Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tata González in the 59th minute of play. After 61 played minutes Ciclista FC got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Hug. After 67 played minutes Ciclista FC got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Cordarryl. Tata González struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Crişan Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LA LUZ F.C.. The supporters of LA LUZ F.C. booed when Ciclista FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Castel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Ciclista FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mala Lech came free, but Crişan Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Crişan Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tata González in the 82nd minute of play. In the 86th minute Luís Cubilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Crişan Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, LA LUZ F.C.'s Mala Lech nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Crişan Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mala Lech in the 94th minute of play forced Ciclista FC's goalkeeper Crişan Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. LA LUZ F.C. fully deserved thier win.
