Granadero10 were furious when Jairo Vinhas was red carded, 7 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Granadero10! The goalkeeper, Sydney Barros, was totally fooled by Várzea F.C.'s Vivaldo Bueno, who 9 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Inácio Barbosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeu Batista having to make a save. In the 23rd minute Valdomiro Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Granadero10 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Granadero10's Juan de Medeiros broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Granadero10's Sydney Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Granadero10 from getting a goal against them. Giuseppe Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giuseppe Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Inácio Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Granadero10's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdomiro Duarte in the 54th minute of play forced Granadero10's goalkeeper Sydney Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Rubinho Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willian Neves's late challenge caught a Várzea F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Willian Neves helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Granadero10 got a freekick which was hit by Willian Neves. Granadero10's Sydney Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Queirós in the 60th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Inácio Barbosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Seco in the 68th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Romeu Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Giuseppe Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adhemar Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Giuseppe Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Granadero10's Sydney Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdomiro Duarte in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Aníbal Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
