Leopoldo Fernanco might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Panait Urdoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leopoldo Fernanco ran back to his position shaking his head. Sergio Ermengol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Fernanco in the 35th minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Panait Urdoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ceferino Austin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Chabier in the 38th minute of the match. Panait Urdoi made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Leopoldo Fernanco sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnulfo Bastiaro was the one to do the kick off. Celta de Virgos's Leopoldo Fernanco got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Panait Urdoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Fernanco in the 54th minute of play. Antonio Madeo hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Panait Urdoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ceferino Austin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Chabier in the 81st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Yala defense, Arnoldo Florian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Panait Urdoi. The Yala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Panait Urdoi should have stopped the shot. After 88 minutes of play, Celta de Virgos's Arnoldo Florian made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Panait Urdoi was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Yala players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Celta de Virgos.
