After a rather tough play, MDP ES TRICOLOR Q22's Nestor Beltza got a free kick in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the game, MDP ES TRICOLOR Q22's Bruno Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonardo Jara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 34th minute, MDP ES TRICOLOR Q22's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cai Cheng Sang fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sven-Åke Granberg to make the kick off.
