The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Antônio Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s goalkeeper João Vítor Arósio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ove Ahlström during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marcelo Chabier charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Chabier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 19 played minutes MDP ES TRICOLOR Q22 got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Chabier. Severino Chuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Santos in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of MDP ES TRICOLOR Q22 booed when ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Makis Apostolakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, MDP ES TRICOLOR Q22's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Santos came free, but Severino Chuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Antônio Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Chuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Antônio Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Severino Chuan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Santos in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino Chuan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Xande Chaves in the 42nd minute. After taking down the ball on ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s corner Xande Chaves fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Severino Chuan quite easily take care of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Antônio Santos made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in MDP ES TRICOLOR Q22's zone, Antônio Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Chuan came out of the goal and Antônio Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruno Marques might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Vítor Arósio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruno Marques ran back to his position shaking his head. 56 minutes into the match, ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Marques came free, but João Vítor Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 62 minutes of play ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Ove Ahlström was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 63 played minutes ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ got a freekick which was hit by Ove Ahlström. Bruno Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vítor Arósio having to interfere. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Celsinho Capixaba was substituted for Erivaldo Sena. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antônio Santos got free with Severino Chuan in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. João Vítor Arósio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of César Bustamante's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Antônio Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
