Caxias do Sul defense, Chiquinho Sergipano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fausto Ferraz. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fausto Ferraz should have stopped the shot. 8 minutes into the match, Mestre GG's Chiquinho Sergipano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto Ferraz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 10 minutes into the game, Gildo Sá was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mestre GG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E.R. Caxias do Sul the free kick. After 10 played minutes Mestre GG got a freekick which was hit by Gildo Sá. In the 11th minute, Oswaldo Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 12 minutes, Dagoberto Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagoberto Esteves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mestre GG's zone, Kauã Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raúl de Amaral came out of the goal and Kauã Vander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victor Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Raúl de Amaral made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Rui da Costa sent off a good shot on target. A nice corner shot did that Dagoberto Esteves got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Raúl de Amaral quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Caio Rosa hit a great ball. A collision led to Mestre GG getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Fiori Campidelis hit a great ball. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Mestre GG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiquinho Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Marcel Abreu made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Fred Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fausto Ferraz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gildo Sá's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Rui da Costa hit a great ball. Raúl de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fred Soares during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fred Soares hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Mestre GG's Oswaldo Dracena got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Dagoberto Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Marcel Abreu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raúl de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fiori Campidelis couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Mestre GG's Zeca Donatello got a free kick in the 87th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Marcel Abreu notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mestre GG's Raúl de Amaral. Raúl de Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui da Costa in the 94th minute of play forced Mestre GG's goalkeeper Raúl de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mestre GG players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for S.E.R. Caxias do Sul.
