Al-Fajuth's Eliseu Alagoano managed to work through Scarlet Speedster's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Eliseu Alagoano dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Dudu de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Maia in the 17th minute of play. Jefferson Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Wilson Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th match minute, Scarlet Speedster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jânio Martins to maneuver through the defense. Rômulo Soares struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Dudu de Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Al-Fajuth. 36 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Matorin came free, but Dudu de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu de Toledo having to interfere. After the first half Al-Fajuth were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The Scarlet Speedster fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Dudu de Toledo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseu Alagoano in the 59th minute of play forced Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Dudu de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romário Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Édouard Mendy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarlet Speedster. Édouard Mendy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 70 minutes, Eliseu Alagoano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Al-Fajuth and the Scarlet Speedster players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Scarlet Speedster booed when Al-Fajuth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dudu de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Soares in the 82nd minute of play forced Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Dudu de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliseu Alagoano in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dudu de Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 90 played minutes Scarlet Speedster got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Guimarães.
