Mário Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34thth minute of the game Niša Vojinović who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Balurcos's Mário Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Niša Vojinović did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Mário Ferraz 34 minutes into the match. Šaban Sedlarević took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eurico Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Caki Prijović sped through Balurcos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mário Ferraz. After a defensive mix-up in Balurcos's zone, Caki Prijović stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mário Ferraz came out of the goal and Caki Prijović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donato Medeiros hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Petts Wood's Šaban Sedlarević played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Calheiros in the 54th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Caki Prijović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
