Academica Pulheim's Carl Derm pulled a muscle in his back after 40 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 41st minute, Dorin Nebunu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC Cosula-BTF-'s Sever Mărăscu got a free kick in the 42nd minute. FC Cosula-BTF-'s Ilie Brumaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moritz Christe in the 46th minute of play. Ilie Brumaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moritz Christe, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
