With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruslan Gryshanovych prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lev Kovalevskyi in the 18th minute of play forced ПАРТИЗАН Червен бряг's goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Kuzman Tzankov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruslan Gryshanovych was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Luca Modrić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruslan Gryshanovych took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kuzman Tzankov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruslan Gryshanovych showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bayhan Özsungur in the 30th minute of the match. Kasper Schmeichel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lev Kovalevskyi, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Lyubomyr Pervak kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Ruslan Gryshanovych showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Modrić in the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of GREMIO booed when ПАРТИЗАН Червен бряг was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Gerard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luca Modrić charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luca Modrić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to ПАРТИЗАН Червен бряг getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Luca Modrić hit a great ball. Denys Tsvik was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

GREMIO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steven Gerard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0.
