Spectators: 187 (Terracing: 141, Seating: 43, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ronaldo Pirani started the match with the kick off. Nick Farrugia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Fernando Pras made a huge save. Richard Rapinett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. If Nelsinho Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Rapinett came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho. But to his dismay, Nelsinho Marinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Ronaldo Pirani's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Rapinett was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Richard Rapinett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Carneiro in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Meerkats FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrè Tedesco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute Ronaldo Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Rapinett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Andrea Bonett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernando Pras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dejan Testaferrata Olivier in the 54th minute of play. Zach Gerada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelsinho Marinho in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Rapinett saved Meerkats FC from getting behind. Meerkats FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Nelsinho Marinho scored to the left of an out of position Richard Rapinett, making the score, 0-3. In the 69th minute, Nick Farrugia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldo Pirani got free with Richard Rapinett in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nicholas Grixti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Pras having to interfere. When Doni Pimenta fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palestra do Interior's protests and gave Doni Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. Fernando Pras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dejan Testaferrata Olivier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Meerkats FC's Richard Rapinett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Pimenta in the 90th minute of play. After 90 minutes, Dejan Testaferrata Olivier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meerkats FC and the Palestra do Interior players grew even worse after the yellow card. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Maurinho Matorin replaced Zé Rafael. In the 92nd match minute, Meerkats FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dejan Testaferrata Olivier to maneuver through the defense. Perivaldo Gerber took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Richard Rapinett. Meerkats FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Palestra do Interior eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
