The goal made the score 1-0. In the 13th minute, Paolo Maldonado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victor Chilavert was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Adriano Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Sydney Arruda got a free kick in the 18th minute. Victor Chilavert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Apolo Intxixu went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Victor Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolo Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as German Erramu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Victor Chilavert. That made the score 4-0 in the 36 minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Apolo Intxixu came free, but Victor Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. German Erramu took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victor Chilavert. Victor Chilavert dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Freire made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Honorio Gartzen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cieneguita AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leon Sport Club the free kick. Cieneguita AFC's Blas Merexildo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Cieneguita AFC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Cieneguita AFC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Eustacio Irrintzi hit a great ball. Victor Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolo Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Victor Chilavert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Apolo Intxixu went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Leon Sport Club booed when Cieneguita AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apolo Intxixu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Chilavert came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Cieneguita AFC's German Erramu. But to his dismay, German Erramu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Victor Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Erramu, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute Eduardo Polo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon Sport Club's Victor Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apolo Intxixu in the 88th minute of play. Feliciano Quinten's late challenge caught a Leon Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feliciano Quinten helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cieneguita AFC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Feliciano Quinten hit a great ball.
