After 19 minutes, Sílvio Luís Melo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the HELVETIA and the Itajaí Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to HELVETIA getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Sílvio Luís Melo hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Guto Loureiro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mazinho Fernandez, 1-1. With 30 minutes on the clock, Sebastião de Senna commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card.
