Tony Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. When Cellule's Cyrille Massy in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Botafogo's goalie prevented a goal. Ryan Onillons short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Antônio Carlos Favoretto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ryan Onillon in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Carlos Favoretto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Antônio Carlos Favoretto managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Cellule's Ryan Onillon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Antônio Carlos Favoretto came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Cellule's Ryan Onillon. But to his dismay, Ryan Onillon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Mathias Dumontet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Lima in the 24th minute of the match. Fausto Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cellule's Cyrille Massy got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Botafogo's Antônio Carlos Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyrille Massy in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Ryan Onillon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cyrille Massy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Antônio Carlos Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cyrille Massy to make the kick off. A collision led to Cellule getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Louis Gagnard hit a great ball. Ryan Onillon succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. Ryan Onillon took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antônio Carlos Favoretto. Antônio Carlos Favoretto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyrille Massy in the 69th minute of play forced Botafogo's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antônio Carlos Favoretto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cyrille Massy went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Onillon in the 84th minute of play forced Botafogo's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Ryan Onillon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ryan Onillon in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Carlos Favoretto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cellule fans cheered their team off the field, for while Botafogo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
