Jairo Orlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beto Paraíba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Orlan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. When Teodosio Gonchan fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pacios ClaudioFutbolKlub's protests and gave Teodosio Gonchan a yellow card for diving instead. Teodosio Gonchan hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Cristo Naike ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Celestino Ourente managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pacios ClaudioFutbolKlub's supporters rose to their feet, but Celestino Ourente was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vivaldo Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Celestino Ourente made the kick off in the second half. Vivaldo Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Cordareo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. A collision led to Cruzeiro RS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Mathias Vidal hit a great ball. Ulises Jaen hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Jorge Peixoto took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Jairo Orlan to make any attempt to save it. With 66 minutes on the clock, Rogério Novaes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 66 minutes into the game, one of Cruzeiro RS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience was convinced that Celestino Ourente's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vivaldo Koehler was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
