After having played for 19 minutes, Francisco Guillaumet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pataconazul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Guillaumet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Guillaumet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Tayfur Özluer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Luzuriaga Olazaran came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Pataconazul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luzuriaga Olazaran couldn't finish the play. Pataconazul's Manuel Astete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haşim Paye in the 25th minute of play. Manuel Astete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haşim Paye in the 31st minute of play. When Francisco Guillaumet fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pataconazul's protests and gave Francisco Guillaumet a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ツ✿❦Vumbura Pirates❦✿ツ booed when Pataconazul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Guillaumet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvio Camilo's late challenge caught a ツ✿❦Vumbura Pirates❦✿ツ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvio Camilo helped the player get up and apologised. Silvio Camilo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Tayfur Özluer made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Francisco Guillaumet sent off a good shot on target. Luzuriaga Olazaran struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Tayfur Özluer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pataconazul. Haşim Paye scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manuel Astete, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Haşim Paye made the kick off in the second half.
