Mugur Tătaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Damaso Caitano made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Amador Oso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tigre's supporters rose to their feet, but Amador Oso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damian Apolzan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute of the match, Vali Cozac tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Damaso Caitano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 38 played minutes Tigre got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Vergaray. In the 39th minute Vali Cozac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Caitano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tigre's Jeremias Benat got a free kick in the 41st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vali Cozac got free with Damaso Caitano in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The referee showed Francisc Hurdubețiu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mugur Tătaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damaso Caitano having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Tigre's goal looked a bit too open when Constantin Pușcariu came free, but Damaso Caitano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Amador Oso could shoot a difficult shot in the 93rd minute, which Damian Apolzan however easily saved by the left post. Tigre's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
