Donato Olmi made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Cafu Filho sent off a good shot on target. Donato Olmi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 7th minute, Alvaro Scarcella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cafu Filho in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Olmi saved Supremacy Catania FC from getting behind. When Valdemar Leite in the 11th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Donato Olmi kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cafu Filho got free with Donato Olmi in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Cafu Filho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donato Olmi was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Valdemar Leite kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Donato Olmi. That made the score 4-0 in the 25 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvise Ciscato in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edmundo de Lima prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdemar Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Donato Olmi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sagarana Clube getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Chico de Medeiros hit a great ball. Alvaro Scarcella took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edmundo de Lima. Sagarana Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Donato Olmi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Costa in the 37th minute of the match. Cafu Filho came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Donato Olmi could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Supremacy Catania FC's zone, Luiz Fábio Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Olmi came out of the goal and Luiz Fábio Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Frederico Costa took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Donato Olmi to make any attempt to save it. 48 minutes into the game, Valdemar Leite lined in a short shot 6-0 behind a frustrated Donato Olmi. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

55 minutes into the match, Valdemar Leite had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato Olmi. Supremacy Catania FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdemar Leite was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Donato Olmi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Leite in the 59th minute of the match. Donato Olmi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the game, Cafu Filho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Donato Olmi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 67 minutes, Alvise Ciscato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Supremacy Catania FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvise Ciscato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Attilio La Penna hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Cafu Filho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Olmi having to interfere. If Cafu Filho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bebeto Moura in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Olmi saved Supremacy Catania FC from getting behind. Supremacy Catania FC's Donato Olmi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar Leite in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Cafu Filho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donato Olmi was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Donato Olmi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdemar Leite in the 98th minute of play forced Supremacy Catania FC's goalkeeper Donato Olmi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sagarana Clube fully deserved thier win.
