The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Casimiro Polentzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Machado in the 4th minute of play forced C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's goalkeeper Zeledon Markel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thiago Machado in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeledon Markel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Machado in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeledon Markel saved C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA from getting behind. 10 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeledon Markel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Coritiba Foot Ball Club. Klei Berson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zeledon Markel. 0-1. In the 16th minute, Thiago Machado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zeledon Markel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Zeledon Markel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Hyuga in the 18th minute of the match. With his leg Delfim Dantas managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Jesus Abad fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 30 minutes into the match, Thiago Machado notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Zeledon Markel. Zeledon Markel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zeledon Markel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thiago Machado in the 32nd minute of the match. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Klei Berson in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Machado in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeledon Markel saved C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA from getting behind. After 39 minutes C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Klei Berson who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Klei Berson got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Delfim Dantas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Coritiba Foot Ball Club from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jesus Abad was the one to do the kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeledon Markel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Delfim Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Walme in the 62nd minute of play. Zeledon Markel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thiago Machado in the 64th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Steve Hyuga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Steve Hyuga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Markel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teofilo Quintyn kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Klei Berson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Thiago Machado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zeledon Markel. Thiago Machado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. In the 78th minute, Thiago Machado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zeledon Markel. The goal made the score 0-7. In the 82nd minute, Caetano Ponta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caetano Ponta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Coritiba Foot Ball Club getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Caetano Ponta hit a great ball. Coritiba Foot Ball Club played a much better game than C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA and deserved their victory. The C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
