Börge Modig who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Alf Hultstrand when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ian Carlsson lost his temper 5 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Östergmalms FK! Östergmalms FK:s Alf Hultstrand showed great skill when he stopped Michael Lööf:s penalty. In the 9th minute, Andy Ålberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Östergmalms FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Östergmalms FK's Melker Forsberg got a free kick in the 12th minute. Michael Lööf could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Alf Hultstrand made a huge save. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andy Ålberg made a kick off. John Mellbad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Alf Hultstrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alf Hultstrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Mellbad, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute Börge Modig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Hultstrand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alf Hultstrand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Mellbad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Leo Lång managed to get in a good position for a shot.
